Ranking the 3 best coaching options for the Bucks: 1. Nick Nurse

Nick Nurse has been one of the winningest coaches in the league since 2019, winning 227 games. He has spent all five of his years as a head coach with the Toronto Raptors. He won the NBA Championship in 2019 and in 2020, was Coach of the Year where he led the Raptors to the second-best record in the NBA after the 2019 NBA Finals MVP, Kawhi Leonard, left them for the Clippers in free agency.

Nurse is another defensive-minded coach, as the Raptors have been one of the better defensive teams over the last five years. He was also the coach who figured out how to stop Giannis by building the wall in the 2019 Eastern Conference Finals. In the Finals, he threw out the box-and-1 and let Fred Vanvleet guard and bother Steph Curry, both examples of how he’s able and willing to make adjustments.

The Bucks’ best option is Nurse because he would be coaching a roster that is quite similar to the 2019 Raptors. They had one superstar in Kawhi Leonard, a few all-star caliber players in Kyle Lowry and Pascal Siakam, and a bunch of great role players. The Bucks are built similarly, having Giannis as the superstar, All-Star caliber players with Holiday and Khris Middleton (assuming he’s back) and great role players. Nurse could turn this team into NBA champions again.
