NBA Finals players who will be hot free agents: 1. Bruce Brown

Brown is the rare player that could fit seamlessly into any team’s rotation. His two-way presence was vital to the Nuggets’ success. He shot 35.9 percent from deep while taking on tough defensive assignments. He set new career highs in 3-pointers made (91), points per game (11.5), total assists (268), and total steals (87).

Head coach Mike Malone deployed Brown in a variety of roles. During the regular season, he started many games at small forward in place of Michael Porter Jr. As the season progressed, he logged more minutes at guard. During the playoffs, he has taken over the backup point guard role.

Brown’s versatility and skillset will make him an appealing option on the free agent market. He has a player option for next season worth $6.8 million. If he opts out, the Nuggets will not own his bird rights, so it would be difficult to bring him back.

Brown told of Vinny Benedetto of The Denver Gazette that he hasn’t thought about his offseason plans “too much”:

"“I haven’t thought about it too much. I think I’ll think about it when we’re done, but, obviously, it’s been a great season.”"
