Michigan football recruiting: 4-star DL Owen Wafle commits

Michigan’s recruiting weekend landed them a new commitment in four-star defensive lineman Owen Wafle, a former Notre Dame commit.

Wafle helped lead the Hun School in New Jersey to a 9-0 record with 24 tackles for loss and 10 sacks in 2022. The No. 406 prospect in the 247Sports composite definitely brings size with that production, standing 6-foot-2, 290-pounds.

Wafle’s commitment was just one positive aspect of the latest wave of official visits. The Wolverines picked up predictions in the 247Sports Crystal Ball for four-star OT Bennett Warren, four-star edge rusher Elias Rudolph (who was projected to Ohio State late last year), four-star edge rusher Dominic Nichols and four-star defensive lineman Deyvid Palepale.

Jim Harbaugh’s staff already boasts the No. 2 class in the cycle behind Georgia, but there are still moves to make, that much is clear.
