The Angels should avoid trade for Shane Bieber

The Angels most definitely need to add some pieces to their roster. Pitching is not one of those pieces.

At 39-32 the Angels are in third place in the AL West. With Mike Trout and Shohei Ohtani leading the way, the Angels need some extra help to move them closer to the Astros and Rangers, who are atop the division.

The Angels appear to have a good starting rotation. The infield has a tremendous amount of depth that allows for mixing and matching. The outfield is steady with Trout in center. The corner outfield positions seem to have depth with many options.

Catchers Logan O’Hoppe and Max Stassi are each on the 60-day injured list. Matt Thaiss and Chad Wallach are filling in the role as catcher. The team may need to look for some veteran stability there and the bullpen.

The Angels are not a team that should kick the tires on Bieber as they have other needs that should be addressed.
