The Arizona Diamondbacks have a four game lead over the Dodgers in the NL West and today are going for the sweep in their interleague series with the Cleveland Guardians. Yesterday Arizona took a 6-3 win on a night they hit four home runs and are now 43-28. The Guardians are 32-38 and in second in the AL Central.

For the finale in Arizona the Diamondbacks will go with Zach Davies who is 1-2 with a 5.46 ERA in six starts against Tanner Bibee who is 2-2 for Cleveland with a 3.91 ERA. Let’s get into the odds for this one on a Sunday afternoon in the desert.

Guardians vs. Diamondbacks odds, run line and total

Guardians vs. Diamondbacks prediction and pick

Neither Bibee nor Davies were particularly good last time they took the mound. Bibee went four innings and allowed six runs last time against the Padres and Davies gave up six over three innings to the Phillies. They both better have a bounce back performance or this could turn into a bloodbath.

The Guardians looked like a team that was improving offensively heading into this series, but with just four runs across the first two games that might not be the case. Though in their defense nobody can do anything with Zac Gallen and they had a bad matchup with Tommy Henry on the mound yesterday because they’ve struggled to hit lefties. Today looks like the perfect matchup and their rookie outfielder, Will Brennan is still hitting a lot and in June his OPS is .977

The Diamondbacks and their rookie, Corbin Carroll have been the most frightening lineup in the National League. In June they lead all NL teams and are second in baseball in team OPS. For the year, Carroll has a .982 OPS which is second in baseball only behind Shohei Ohtani. Carroll has 15 home runs and 18 doubles and a 167 OPS+. I’ll fade both pitchers and back the young bats in both of these lineups to have a big afternoon.
