Lucas Giolito would be the perfect candidate for the Blue Jays to replace Alek Manoah

Lucas Giolito has been tied to trade rumors because of his one-year contract and the struggles with the White Sox.

The White Sox are in prime position to blow up their roster and follow the blueprint that has been set and executed by the Orioles and the Reds over the last few seasons. These two teams have blown up their MLB roster and accepted they wouldn’t compete for a few seasons. They built their farm systems and now those young prospects are here and performing. The White Sox could rebuild this way as well.

Chicago could kickstart their rebuild by dealing Giolito before the deadline. And there aren’t many better places for him than in Toronto. The Blue Jays lineup is good enough to carry them for the most part, as long as their rotation is consistent. And Giolito has been consistently good for the entire season.

So far, Giolito is allowing fewer hits and fewer walks per nine than he did in 2022. He would provide the Blue Jays with a middle-of-the-rotation reliever that could consistently get them outs and put them in position to win. If Giolito is available at the deadline, the Blue Jays need to make an offer.
