2023 NBA Draft grade: No. 30 pick Kobe Brown, Los Angeles Clippers

Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Missouri. 30. player. F. Kobe Brown. 77

Grade: B-

A bit of a surprise, as Kobe Brown was projected mostly in the early-to-mid second round. The fit, however, is strong. Los Angeles struggled to find consistent production at the 4 spot last season and Brown, as one of the oldest players on the board, could be ready to contribute straight away.

Brown is extremely smart and crafty at 6-foot-7 and 240 pounds. He’s a lights-out shooter with real juice as a face-up threat. He makes strong passing reads on the move and he can bully smaller defenders on the post.

Defense is a concern given his lack of limited lateral quickness but the Clippers have a clear need for his offensive skill set.

From our NBA Draft Big Board:

"Listed at 6-foot-7 and 240 pounds, Kobe Brown is one of the more unique prospects on the board. He absolutely scorched the nets for Missouri this season (45.5 percent from 3) and he’s remarkably nimble with the ball in hand, attacking defenders off the catch and fluidly hitting pull-up jumpers. He can also bully smaller defenders in the post. What really makes Brown pop, however, is his quick processing speed and impressive passing acumen in the frontcourt."
