Dana White is hoping to stage a fight between two mega-tech billionaires. No one needs this, not now, not ever.

When I first heard that there was even a possibility of Mark Zuckerberg — the founder of Facebook — and Elon Musk — CEO of Twitter and founder of Tesla — facing off against one another in a mixed martial arts match, I thought, “Hm, that could be… something.”

That something felt like it could have been any number of adjectives.

Funny? Maybe.

Entertaining? Possibly.

Unnecessary? For sure!

Disgusting? Definitely.

I also assumed, mistakenly, that the information was a joke sent out by one of those spoof social media accounts made to look real with satirical news that borders on possibility to fake you out just enough to make you think. My information literacy filter failed me, because apparently, the fight is a very real possibility.

Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg fight is a real possibility according to Dana White

Dana White, President of UFC confirmed with TMZ Sports on Thursday that he’s been texting with Zuckerberg and Musk, and that they’re, “dead serious” about fighting in a UFC Octagon.

He seemed to hint that the fight would be at least relatively even-matched and competitive. Zuckerberg has trained for and participated in jiu-jitsu competitions this year and Musk has, “done martial arts,” according to TMZ. Whatever that means.

White said that he expects the event would be a $100 PPV with unprecedented demand both at home and for those hoping to attend in person.

Truly, the only good news here is that White said the proceeds would go to charity. Of course, billionaires can’t just spread their wealth the normal way, by donating it. They have to put their bodies on the line and make us non-billionaires pay for it for them.
