The Atlanta Braves are on fire as of late, taking the first two games of their series with the Minnesota Twins and winning nine of their last 10 games.

Ronald Acuna Jr. hit a pair of home runs on Tuesday night to lead the Braves to a win, and I think we could see some more fireworks on offense on Wednesday afternoon.

Kolby Allard will make his first appearance of the season for the Braves, and he carries a career 6.07 ERA into this matchup. Minnesota counters with Kenta Maeda (1-4, 6.86 ERA) who is making just his second start since April.

Does Atlanta complete the sweep at home?

Twins vs. Braves prediction and pick

While I do lean with the Braves to win this game, I think the OVER is the best bet in this contest for a few reasons.

Let’s start with the Atlanta offense.

Over the last 15 days, the Braves have scored 99 runs (first in MLB) and rank No. 1 in MLB in OPS. The next closest team in runs scored over that stretch? The San Francisco Giants with 83.

Atlanta is on another planet offensively, and it should tee off against Maeda who has struggled in limited action this season. His ERA is a little skewed since he gave up 10 runs in three innings against the New York Yankees back in April, but Atlanta is by far the best offense that Maeda has taken on this season.

I expect the Braves to get to Maeda, but even if they don’t, Allard is a liability for Atlanta in this spot.

The lefty has a 6.07 ERA and 5.36 Fielding Independent Pitching for his career, posting in ERA over five in all but one of his Major League seasons.

With the total set at 9.5, I think we could see both teams push 5-6 runs on Wednesday.
