This year’s MLB All-Star Game jerseys are no bueno, per most of Twitter. Here are fans’ reactions to the 2023 All-Star Game jersey design.

Every year, the MLB comes out with a new design for its annual All-Star Game jerseys, and every years, fans get ready at their keyboards to unleash their fervent opinions.

In 2023, the MLB All-Star Game jersey design was met with widespread criticism surrounding how, er, boring and bland the color scheme and design was.

Since the Midsummer Classic takes place in Seattle this year, the All-Star Game jerseys feature a color combo of green and blue, a nod to the city’s current sports teams (Mariners, Seahawks, Sounders, etc.).

The AL team will don a pale teal jersey (one user on Reddit called it “ocean camo”) while the NL team will don a dark navy jersey with the same pseudo-camo design.

Fans quickly took to Twitter to voice their displeasure surrounding the new designs, with many wishing the league would go back to letting players wear their own team uniforms.

In our humble opinion, the jerseys really aren’t that bad. If anything, they look more like soccer uniforms than baseball uniforms, and that’s not such a terrible thing.

Of course, many vehemently disagree.

So, in summary, a lot of people just want players to wear their own team uniforms just like the olden days.

From the league’s perspective, releasing a new design just means more money from merchandise sales, assuming there’s a small selection of fans who are willing to pay nearly $200 for these All-Star game jerseys.

Are they the flashiest, most stylish unis out there? No. But they do represent Seattle pretty well, even if they do look like a marbled kitchen countertop or the fabric equivalent of the waters of Puget Sound.
