Jose Fermin will not be on the Cardinals roster on September 1

So if Motter is no longer on the roster, Fermin will not be on the roster either.

Fermin was recalled from Memphis once Brendan Donovan was placed on the injured list for surgery on his arm. With Edman, Gorman, and Motter taking most of the starts, Fermin has been on the bench. He has played second and third bases, giving Nolan Arenado a break.

Fermin will likely be a guy they can bring in to allow the starters some break time. And that’s great to have around. But with Winn probably arriving by the end of August, Fermin will not be on the roster unless he steps up and dazzles.
