With weather hitting the Chicagoland area on Saturday, will the Braves-Cubs game this afternoon go on at the expected time?

Saturday morning came with foggy, misty skies in the Chicagoland area. Wrigley Field, just before noon local time, still had the tarp on the dirt, which had been the case since early in the morning.

After the Braves put a Friday afternoon beatdown on the Cubs, Saturday’s game gives Chicago a chance to bark back at the best team in the National League. That is… if rain doesn’t get in the way.

First pitch was originally scheduled for 1:20 p.m. Central Time. Here’s what we know right now in regard to whether or not the game this afternoon will be delayed by rain in the area.

So far, the game is expected to go on today. Since it’s an afternoon game, even if it’s delayed, expect the Cubs and Braves to deke this one out at some point Saturday.

As of publication, no rain delay has yet been announced. That said, rain in the area is expected to persist, and changing conditions could potentially adjust the first pitch of the game.
