I know Indianapolis Colts fans are going through it right now, but they should still have a little bit of optimism for the rest of the season. There’s still 13 weeks of the season and the Colts are only two games back from the Tennessee Titans.

Indianapolis has looked decent in spots this year. It’s now just a matter of putting the pieces together and figuring out how to win games.

WynnBET currently has the Colts’ odds to win the division at +275, while the Titans are -400 at the top. The season isn’t over yet, and here are three things the Colts need to do to win the AFC South.

Colts Need to Dominate Next Five Games

The next five games are crucial for the Indianapolis Colts. They have games against Houston, San Francisco, Tennessee, the New York Jets, and Jacksonville, respectively. Three of those teams are some of the worst in the league and need to be wins if the Colts want to climb out of the 1-4 hole they’ve dug themselves in.

The Colts let the game against the Baltimore Ravens slip away from them, which would’ve put them in a much better position than being two games back. Luckily, they have an opportunity to fix that in the near future. The only game Indianapolis can afford to lose would be against the 49ers, but the rest are either divisional games or very winnable games.

Indianapolis needs to have a near perfect next five games.

This Version of Carson Wentz Needs to Stay

The Carson Wentz we saw on Monday Night Football is the one the Colts were waiting for. He was accurate, decisive and didn’t make the big mistake. Wentz threw for over 400 yards, two touchdowns and had zero interceptions.

When Wentz is at his best, he is able to fit into a system that doesn’t need him to be a superhero -- because that’s when he forces the ball into situations it has no business being in. If the Colts can find a way to keep Wentz out of trouble and give him easy reads, expect for a major run to happen.

Jonathan Taylor Must Be the X-Factor

Over the last two games, Taylor has played exactly the way Indianapolis needed him too. He’s had over 100 scrimmage yards and a touchdown in each of the last two games. With Wentz’s propensity to turn the ball over, Taylor needs to be the driving force of the offense to put him in easy positions.

Yes, the offensive line hasn’t been everything it was projected to be prior to the season starting, but Taylor needs to get going and stay hot if the Colts want a chance at the AFC South title
