Who’s ready to pick an upset this week in the NFL?

The BetSided team turned in another 3-1 week in our moneyline upset picks, to push our record to 11-4 on the season. Underdogs have been great to start the NFL season, and we’re looking to cash in again in Week 5.

Here’s who we are backing in Week 5, with odds via WynnBET Sportsbook:

Philadelphia Eagles (+160) at Carolina Panthers

I'm continuing to sell high on the Panthers, and I think they're going to be one of those teams that we look back on later in the season, baffled that we thought they were actually good.

The Panthers defense is a young and upcoming unit, but they're vulnerable against the run this season allowing opponents to get 4.5 yards on the ground against them. That's good news for an Eagles offense that's first in the NFL in yards per carry at 5.4.

The Panthers have benefitted from an easy schedule at the start of the season, while the Eagles have had to face the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. This is a sell-high, buy-low spot for me, give me the Eagles to get the upset win on the road. -- Iain MacMillan

Buffalo Bills (+130) at Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs’ defense is betraying the team. The defense has made the Chiefs into a character found in Greek tragedies: a hero with a fatal flaw. Kansas City just gave up 30 points in three of its four games (the Cleveland Browns scored 29). I don’t know if I can trust them right now, especially with the Bills playing the way they are.

Buffalo is averaging nearly 40 points per game over the last three games. If they go into Kansas City and stay as hot as they’ve been, this will be an easy win for the Bills. WynnBET has them as +130 underdogs, and I’m in Bills Mafia this week.

Washington Football Team (+110) vs. New Orleans Saints

Is Taylor Heinicke for real

The backup quarterback for the Washington Football Team has gone 2-1 since taking over for the injured Ryan Fitzpatrick, although the team was blown out by the Buffalo Bills.

Washington’s defense has let it down this season, but Heinicke, Terry McLaurin and a beautiful dive from J.D. McKissic got the Football Team back to .500 against the Atlanta Falcons last week.

I think it can keep it rolling against a New Orleans Saints team that just lost to the New York Giants at home in Week 4.

New Orleans is averaging the fifth-fewest yards per play this season (4.8) and has been extremely inconsistent to start the season. Washington is a home dog, and I think it has some momentum after last week’s comeback win. Give me Heinicke in the upset. -- Peter Dewey

San Francisco 49ers (+205) at Arizona Cardinals

If there is a game Kyle Shanahan wants to get up for it's this one. His prized possession, No. 3 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft Trey  Lance will likely be making his first start against the last undefeated team in the NFL, and I expect the Niners to compete well in this one.

It starts on the ground. Lance has a big arm, but I expect a ton of read options and creative looks to get the likes of Lance and Deebo Samuel the ball in space. Arizona is allowing the third highest defensive success rate in the league this season, and I expect Shanahan to exploit that weakness.

Lance was dealt a tough hand in his first real action, coming in at half against the Seahawks, and San Francisco fumbled a kickoff early that put them behind. Now with a full week of practice and a better game plan tailored to his needs, the rookie will thrive. This line is an overreaction, and I'll take a stab at San Fran north of +200. -- Reed Wallach

Cleveland Browns (+105) at Los Angeles Chargers

I've developed a coach-crush on first-year coach Brandon Staley. He's analytically-driven, thoughtful and direct with the media, and he's done a superb job of actually building and developing their scheme to fit the talent of their players.

The problem this week, however, is the Browns' greatest strength is also the Chargers' most glaring weakness: the run game.

The Browns lead the NFL in rush yards from scrimmage this year with 708 through four games. The Chargers have allowed the fourth-most yards from scrimmage this year, with only the Seahawks, Eagles and Chiefs ranking worse. Cleveland has PFF's No. 1 ranked offensive line and won't have any issue controlling time of possession.

The Chargers come off a key divisional win against the Las Vegas Raiders, but it's also a short week for them. I also expect Baker Mayfield to start connecting on those errant throws he missed the last few weeks to Odell Beckham Jr.

It may be in Los Angeles, but anyone who saw the Monday Night Football game knew that it was almost 50/50 with Raiders fans. Expect the Dawg Pound to be loud on the road this week as well.  -- Ben Heisler
