NFL Week 8 Survivor Picks

Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati is now a 10-point favorite at WynnBET against the New York Jets, and not even Joe Flacco is going to scare me out of this pick.

Zach Wilson is banged up, and the Jets are coming off a lifeless performance in Week 7 against the New England Patriots.

Cincinnati’s defense has allowed the fifth-fewest points and the third-fewest yards per play this season. Whoever is under center for the Jets is going to struggle, and I believe in Joe Burrow and company to move to 6-2. -- Peter Dewey

When I looked at this week's slate, the two games that stood out to me came against the New York teams. I'd feel comfortable taking Kansas City Chiefs over New York Giants too because, man, if the Chiefs can't beat the Giants they're truly toast. But no. Let's not get cute. Let's go with the sure thing.

The Jets are without their starting quarterback Zach Wilson and are devoid of talent across the field. Throw in some questionable coaching by their rookie head coach and rookie offensive coordinator, and I'm siding with a Bengals team that just wiped the floor with the Ravens.

Now, could this be a letdown game for Cincinnati coming off that huge road win and with an important game against the Browns up next? Yes. I could see this being closer than it should be. But the Bengals went on the road and molly whopped the Lions two weeks ago ahead of their game against the Ravens. I'll take that as a good sign they're focused in and won't overlook the woeful Jets.  -- Brian Giuffra

Mike White, Joe Flacco, I don't care, the Bengals are a legit contender and they take care of business against the lowly Jets.

On the other side of the ball, how are the Jets going to slow down Joe Burrow and the Bengals aerial attack? The team has the sixth worst Dropback/EPA. Cincy wins easy and we move onto next week. -- Reed Wallach

Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills are coming off a bye week and will face, in my opinion, the worst team in the NFL. The Bills are set as 13-point favorites and they'll face a Miami team that ranks third last in the NFL in average scoring margin at -11.4. It's a matchup between one of the worst offenses in the NFL against one of the best defenses in the Bills, and there's only one way I see this game finishing and that's in a Buffalo rout.

Easy game, easy pick, and we'll be on to Week 9. -- Iain MacMillan
