Titans Super Bowl Odds Surge, Odds vs. Chiefs Remain the Same
By Peter Dewey
The Tennessee Titans are doing their best to make up for their horrible loss to the New York Jets earlier this season, as they upset the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football in Week 6.
Derrick Henry, who actually might be a legit MVP candidate, totaled 156 yards and three touchdowns to lead the Titans to the win. Tennessee lost Caleb Farley (torn ACL) and Taylor Lewan in the game, but this was a huge win for the Titans’ playoff resume this season.
Tennessee is still two games up on the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC South, and they saw their odds to win the Super Bowl at WynnBET Sportsbook soar from +4000 to +2500 after the upset.
Updated Odds to Win the Super Bowl
- Buffalo Bills: +550
- Tampa Bay Buccaneers: +550
- Kansas City Chiefs: +750
- Arizona Cardinals: +900
- Dallas Cowboys: +900
- Los Angeles Rams: +900
- Baltimore Ravens: +1000
- Green Bay Packers: +1200
- Los Angeles Chargers: +1800
- Cleveland Browns: +2000
- Tennessee Titans: +2500
Tennessee may be a value pick to win the Super Bowl, as our own Ben Heisler pointed out earlier this week, and he called last night’s upset.
“Tennessee has flaws, but this year more than ever, the NFL feels incredibly wide open for one team to get hot at the right time,” he wrote. “The Titans right now have a bottom-10 defense in the league, ranking 24th in points allowed, but if they can get key free agent pass rusher Bud Dupree back healthy, along with first round corner Caleb Farley consistently on the field, their defense could take a massive step in the right direction."
“I agree with the oddsmakers' assessment and not only do I like a small future bet purely for value on Tennessee, as I wrote in our team's ‘Monday Night Football Best Bets,’ earlier, I expect the Titans to not only cover the six-point spread versus Buffalo, but perhaps win outright.”
While the Titans have seen their odds to win the Super Bowl move, they are still 5.5-point home underdogs against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 7. The total for that game is set at 57.0 points, but the over might still be the play.
The Chiefs have struggled covering the spread, although they were able to do so in Week 6 against Washington. Still, Tennessee has a chance to make another statement with an upset in Week 7 at home.
