Thursday night will be the battle of the last two No. 1 overall picks with Trevor Lawrence and Joe Burrow facing off against one another. Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals are off to a surprising 2-1 start and are tied with the Baltimore Ravens and Cleveland Browns atop the AFC North. Meanwhile, Lawrence and the Jacksonville Jaguars are winless and at the bottom of the AFC South.

Both of these quarterbacks need to play well to push their teams forward and according to the odds, we’ll have a fun back and forth night between these two players.

WynnBET has set their player props for passing yards and Lawrence is expected to out-throw Burrow. Lawrence’s line is set at 255.5 while Burrow’s line is set at 249.5, with both at -115 pick’ems.

I expect for the Jaguars to have their hands full, but Lawrence should come out on top in the passing yards category. I put my faith in Laviska Shenault Jr. to have over four receptions and I’m using the same reasoning for Lawrence to throw for a lot of yards. The Jaguars are going to trail in this game the same way they’ve trailed in every game, and Lawrence is going to have to throw them back into the game.

Lawrence hasn’t been as prolific throwing the ball in the last two weeks as he was against the Houston Texans, but the Bengals are challenged through the air at the second-highest rate in the league. Lawrence should be able to find his groove again.

Burrow, on the other hand, has seen his passing yards decline each week this season. The Bengals are winning, but his numbers are not popping off the chart.

Expect Lawrence to show up on Thursday night in his first primetime game.
