The Atlanta Falcons select Jamar Taylor.

I fully believe that the Falcons will be trading up to select one of the draft’s top cornerbacks, but if they somehow stay put at 30th overall it looks like Jamar Taylor would be the pick. After months of sifting through cornerback prospects, the dust is settling and the Boise State product is on the right side of the first-round.

He’s shot up draft boards recently and for good reason. Hayden possesses the skills to be a true lockdown cornerback in the NFL and don’t mistake the Falcons wanting to trade up as a sign that Taylor isn’t worthy of a first round selection. Don’t be surprised to see a team like the Tampa Bay Buccaneers trade back into the first round to take Taylor if he’s available, as he won’t last long on the second day.

The Falcons want to trade up, and that’s likely what they’re going to do. But Taylor is a solid choice and while he’s no Dee Milliner, he’s got the upside to be a real threat on whoever is lucky enough to take him.
