Entering the final  year of his contract, Seattle Seahawks wide reciever Golden Tate says he wants to remain in Seattle ‘for a long time’.

I’m pretty sure he holds his own cards depending on his play.

Speaking to NFL Radio, Tate said that he thinks the Seahawks will be really special and that he wants to be around to see it.

Tate is only scheduled to make $630,000 this season, so he’ll undboutebly be looking for a payday come season end, one that the Seahawks might not want to give – at least – not at the rate he believes himself to be worth. It’s possible the Seahawks, who have a ton of money tied up with Percy Harvin could cut Sidney Rice in attempts to sign Tate.

The four year NFL veteran out of Notre Dame hauled in 45 catches last year, good for 688 yards on 68 targets. In addition, Tate grabbed a career high seven touchdowns.
