Holy crap – stop what you’re doing. Not all at once, of course – that might create some internal pressure on the earth’s axis (or something).

But seriously, whatever your doing needs to cease because New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is hurt.

/panic

In all seriousness, despite ESPN’s near constant two hour long coverage since news broke of Brady’s injury, the Patriots signal caller is expected to be fine despite suffering what is being called a ‘left knee injury’ during a joint practice between the Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers today.

Per Mike Reiss:

"Tom Brady now leaves the field after consultation w/ head athletic trainer Jim Whalen, Bill Belichick and Josh McDaniels."

The Patriots are obviously being overly cautious with Brady and certainly don’t want the eventual Hall of Fame quarterback to cause any further damage, thus the pulling off the field.

As to how Brady hurt himself, Tampa Bay beat writer Rick Stroud said Brady went down on a passing play, grabbing his left knee. He limped off the field, but returned moments later before running a few more plays and eventually leaving for good after discussions with the coaching/training staff.

Barring something unforeseen, Brady should be fine.
