The Baltimore Ravens lost multiple pieces from their Super Bowl winning defense during the offseason, none more key (at least in name and leadership) than that of future Hall of Famers Ray Lewis and Ed Reed. In addition to both Lewis and Reed, the Ravens also lost talented defenders in Bernard Pollard, Dannell Ellerbe and Paul Kruger.

It was a mighty blow, but one the Ravens front office believes they have patched with a handful of solid additions like Elvis Dumervil, Chris Canty and Michael Huff. Ravens star (and recently very rich) quarterback Joe Flacco also agrees, as he told Mike and Mike on ESPN radio this morning.

Per ESPN:

"“I tell you what, our defense looks really good,” Flacco said on “Mike & Mike in the Morning.” “The front seven, those guys look like they’re going to be dominant. Our secondary, you can argue that it’s better than it’s ever been. … I think we have a pretty special group and I think it’s going to be exciting to watch those guys go after it this year. “"
