New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton has a pretty close relationship with Dallas Cowboys quarterback, Tony Romo. The two spent three seasons together on the sidelines with the Cowboys where Payton was both the assistant head coach and quarterbacks coach before departing for New Orleans.

Payton was a guest on the Jim Rome show recently and Rome, always looking to start a mini-war between two parties, dangled a bit of bait for Payton which he happily took.

When asked who was the better college quarterback between the two, Payton didn’t hesitate, suggesting he was by far the better of the two:

"“Payton — wasn’t close,” the Saints coach answered. “Just look at the numbers. I don’t know that Tony’s even graduated from Eastern yet.”"

Payton was no slouch at the University of Eastern Illinois where he and his teammates became known as ‘Eastern Airlines’ due to their impressive aerial attacks. Payton and his offensive arsenal would routinely top 300 yards passing, even surpassing 500 yards in one game.
