Retirement can be a bore, so former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis has teamed up with part of the Virginia based Neptunes production team to create their own mixtape.

Lewis recently joined Skateboard P, Pharrell Williams on his most recent release which is oddly just four minutes long. It’s literally nothing more three ‘songs’, which feature the future Hall of Fame linebacker.

The mixtape, entitled ‘Natural Born Hitters’, a play off of Lewis’ bone crushing tackles and Pharrell’s Grammy award winning producing features Lewis giving his typical sermon inspiring speeches over Pharell’s funky production style.

It’s certainly a weird combination, but one that was crafted more as a publicity stunt than actual music as Under Armor has sponsored the tape.

Of course, as crafty as the ‘Natural Born Hitters’ title is, they probably could have come up with a little something more public relation friendly in regards to Lewis considering they bit the title off of ‘Natural Born Killaz’ from Ice Cube and Dr. Dre.

As for the music on mixtape, well, it’s pretty bad. The instrumentals are far from Pharell’s best work and the Ray Lewis speeches just seem out of place. But if you need something to pump you up for game day, maybe it’ll work.
