Roddy White didn’t play in the Atlanta Falcons’ final exhibition game on Thursday, but he should be back in time for the season opener against the New Orleans Saints.

D. Orlando Ledbetter of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that White, along with linebacker Stephen Nicholas and kicker Matt Bryant, should all be back in time for kickoff on September 8th.

"“I think all of those guys are on schedule to get back with us and be playing this week,” Falcons coach Mike Smith said. “That’s what we are anticipating at this point in time. We’ll have our official, we are out of the preseason, we’ll start our official regular season with Wednesday, Thursday and Friday updates in terms of what the NFL requires us to do in regards to our injury report.”"

White sprained his ankle during a preseason game against the Baltimore Ravens on August 15th. The Falcons lost that game 27-23.

White has played in 128 consecutive regular season games. According to an NFL.com report by Chris Wesseling, White would have played in a regular season game with this current injury.
