Ah, Ichiro, you little jokester.

During the ninth inning of Saturday afternoon’s game between the Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles, Ichiro Suzuki decided he’d have a little fun at the expense of both his teammates and fans as he trolled them (and their heart conditions) on a somewhat routine fly ball.

Let me set up the scene.

At bat we have Major League Baseball home run leader Chris Davis. On first base we have a runner. The Yankees, on defense are up 2-0 with one out in the top of the ninth inning. Davis his a towering fly ball to right field where Ichiro Suzuki decides it’ll be a good idea to pretend as if he’s fully aware the ball will be going over the wall, resulting in a two-run home run to tie the game.

Of course, the ball doesn’t even get past the halfway point of the warning track and Suzuki camps under the ball at the final moment.

Now, maybe Ichiro just misjudged the ball and was seriously thinking it was going to get over the fence? Not hardly.

Per Lohud Yankees:

"Ichiro admitted he was acting a bit on the Davis fly ball. Knew he had it; wanted everyone to think it might be gone. #yankees #onlyichiro"
