Last week, fans packed The Big House to watch the Wolverines beat the Irish of Notre Dame.

This week, they’re having a little trouble with the whole attendance thing.

The early scheduled kickoff was a concern, so much that head coach Brady Hoke decided to give out 5,000 donuts to students who woke up early on Saturday and made their way to the game. And tasty as they might have been, it appears few took him up on his offer.

Below is a picture of the student section with just six minutes to go until kickoff. Quite empty.

Granted, they are playing Akron of all teams and it’s not as if a MAC opponent is going to draw a ton of spectators, but that’s still pretty rough.

For comparison sake, last week, Michigan drew a record crowd of over 115,000 thousand. Attendance figures for today’s game have yet to be released, though, it shouldn’t take long to count them….on your fingers.

Don’t think we’ll be seeing too many more pre-noon kickoffs in the future.
