Yesterday, the Washington Redskins coaching staff publicly stated their displeasure with the tight end production, almost singling out Fred Davis as the target of their complaints.

That didn’t sit well with Davis, who admitted he was frustrated he was losing playing time to younger players – namely Jordan Reed.

Now, Davis is dealing with an unexpected injury which may give Reed more opportunities as the Redskins placed Davis on the injury report as ‘questionable’ this morning:

"TE Fred Davis added to injury report. Listed as questionable with an ankle injury #redskins"

Davis had practiced fully all week and didn’t appear on any injury reports until this morning, so it’s likely he suffered the ankle injury during Friday afternoons practice.

The Redskins aren’t releasing any more information on the injury, so the severity is unknown. It could be that Davis is in the doghouse after his less than positive comments about playing time or it could be that he actually did indeed hurt himself.

Whatever the case, he remains ‘questionable’ for Sunday’s Week Three action.
