The Eagles have activated Michael Vick for their week 6 game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but will not be starting under center.

Nick Foles is listed as the team’s starter for today’s game, despite Vick being active. The Eagles have said that Vick will mainly be used today as an “emergency QB,” basically if Foles an Barkley get injured, or blow a big lead, or something where they desperately need number 7 to come in.

Michael Vick is still recovering from a hamstring injury which he suffered in last week’s game against the New York Giants, so there’s good reason why he’s not starting today.

When Nick Foles starts for the Philadelphia Eagles, stats aren’t in his favor. Last year, when starting for Vick, Foles was a combined 1-5 in six games.

It is also interesting to note that this is Barkley’s first time being active all season, and as stated early, will be played ahead of Vick if need be. Vick has also said that if he doesn’t get the chance to come back today, he will be ready to go next week when the Eagles face off against the division rival Dallas Cowboys.

So for all you fantasy owners who have Vick as your starter right now, it would be wise to look for someone else to take his place.
