Baltimore Ravens say Dennis Pitta ‘closer than ever’ to returning
By Bryan Rose
When Baltimore Ravens tight end Dennis Pitta went down with a fractured and dislocated hip during the third day of training camp, the concern changed not from whether he’d play football again but to qualify of life.
Thankfully, Pitta will see the field again and according to the team, it’s very possible he’ll see it in a few weeks as head coach John Harbaugh recently said that Pitta is ‘closer than ever’ to returning:
"Baltimore Ravens coach John Harbaugh said tight end Dennis Pitta is “closer than ever” to returning.“Everything I’ve been told is that he’s on schedule,” Harbaugh said Wednesday. “But I still think it’s pretty vague and generic. We’re getting close to that date. I’m interested to hear when he can start practicing again. I’ve been asking that question. I haven’t gotten a ‘yes’ yet. But he’s closer than ever. I have my fingers crossed just like everybody else does.”"
Pitta’s injury was thought to be season ending, though, he’s been progressing well in recent weeks and now it looks extremely likely we’ll see him playing again somewhat soon.
No return date has been mentioned as of yet however.
