The NBA trade deadline is just around the corner and teams are starting to both put players on the trade block and also pull them back off. One such player is Kenneth Faried, who has been thrust into trade rumors this past week thanks to reports that he could be shipped to the New York Knicks.

While those reports have since been debunked, there still seems to be this notion that the Nuggets would part ways with perhaps their best player. NBA scribe Sam Smith from Bulls.com points as much out, stating that the Faried rumors don’t make sense.

"I still don’t get these Kenneth Faried rumors, by the way, as he could be the best player on their team."

The Nuggets are in desperate need of help at point guard and have been just devastated by the injury bug this year. That being said, Faried won’t be mortgaged off to fill bit roles on the roster. He’s a star in the making and Denver needs him long-term and won’t be shipping him off at the deadline.
