Add another team to the possible interested suitors of Michael Johnson.

The talented defensive end has become one of the most popular free agents on the market and according to ESPN Chicago, has found his way onto the Chicago Bears radar.

"Cincinnati Bengals’ free agent defensive end Michael Johnson is on the Chicago Bears’ radar. The Bears were one of the teams to inquire about Johnson on Saturday on the opening day of the NFL’s legal tampering period leading up the official start of free agency on Tuesday at 3 p.m. CT, according to a source familiar with the situation."

Johnson was of course contacted by many teams though a Philadelphia based reporter suggested on Saturday that a few teams had engaged in more serious talks with Johnson, though did not name them.

Could the Bears possibly have been one of those teams?

With Julius Peppers future in Chicago questionable at best (he’ll cost upwards of $18 million), the Bears will likely need help at defensive end and no free agent fits that mold better than Johnson.
