The Atlanta Falcons were reportedly looking to trade up for South Carolina defensive end Jadeveon Clowney, but with the Houston Texans zeroing in on Clowney with the No. 1 overall pick the Falcons were forced to look at Plan B.

It had seemed that the Falcons were content sitting at No. 6 overall and waiting to see who would fall to them in the first round, but now a new report has surfaced that indicates the team could still be looking to make a move up a few spots.

According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Twitter, the Falcons will consider moving up to No. 4 overall if Khalil Mack makes it past the Jacksonville Jaguars at No. 3.

Mack would instantly upgrade the Falcons defense and give them the stud pass rusher and true difference maker that they have been waiting for on that side of the ball.
