The first round of the NFL Draft is in the books and all of the lovely trade rumors we had gotten our fill of over the past months are now irrelevant. But while the trade and picks have already been made, we’re still learning of trades that didn’t happen but almost came to fruition before the end of the round.

One such trade involved the Vikings trying to move up for Johnny Manziel but another one involved the Atlanta Falcons moving back into the first round in order to draft Dee Ford.

Ford ended up gong No. 23 overall to the Kansas City Chiefs and the Falcons never did end up trading back into the first round. It’s clear that they wanted a guy like Ford so their second and third round choices should be interesting to watch to see if they go with a guy that is reminiscent of Ford’s talents.
