While Shaun Livingston has stated he wants to remain loyal to the Brooklyn Nets, they’re only going to have so much money available to pay the free agent to be.

That could allow a few teams to make a run at Livingston in free agency, one of which could be the Minnesota Timberwolves.

As noted, Livingston and Saunders have a relationship stemming from their Washington Wizards days and the point guard has always had positive words for Saunders, crediting his toughness for making him the player that he’s become.

Minnesota however is likely to be over the cap come free agency, so signing Livingston could be difficult unless they plan to offer the veteran point guard the mid-level exception.

That will be more than the $3.1 million dollars the Nets can afford however, so we’ll see how loyal Livingston is if the Timberwolves or another team offer up more cash in free agency.

Livingston averaged 8 points and 3 assists with the majority of his time coming off the Brooklyn Nets bench this season.
