Today was a weird day for anyone who tried to follow this bizarre Johnny Manziel hoax story that saw a lawsuit filed against the new Cleveland browns quarterback by someone who wasn’t the person named in the lawsuit. According to Florida court records, we all learned this morning that Manziel was being sued for sexual harassment by a woman who quickly cleared the air.

More from Cleveland Browns

HLN contributor Samantha Schacher was named as a plaintiff on the lawsuit but later clarified that she was not the person who filed suit against Manziel and even flat-out named the person who is the culprit. So not only has this story gotten even more crazy, but it could be taking a turn towards all out madness, given the ramifications that could stem from this.

Now the tables may have completely turned on the prankster as Mike Florio passes along word that a counter lawsuit could be filed that makes Manziel the victim instead. After all, you can sue whoever you want in this country so long as there’s actually something to sue for.

In this case, there was nothing for Riches to sue for while Manziel has a few different reasons he may now sue. Mike Florio from ProFootball Talk.com points out that the best thing to do about this is nothing, but the allegations aren’t to be taken lightly when  such suits are filed for real against athletes and celebrities and lead to real consequences.

That’s not the case here, but Manziel’s name is already one we watch closely and he may move to clear it, as his agent put it, to the fullest extent of the law.
