Leap Motion innovates the computer experience

In an attempt to continue to evolve the way we interact with technology, Leap Motion is looking to perfect its tool designed to allow users to interact with a computer without ever touching a mouse, keyboard or the screen; enhancing the user experience associated with a computer is a wise task, considering the amount of time they are used.

Leap Motion is hoping to expand upon past versions of its software.  The product is designed so that the user’s motions are tracked and any physical interaction between the users and computer is unnecessary.  To this point, Leap Motion has failed to track individual fingers, creating problems when the hands change positions.

With its newest update, Leap Motion will be able to track individual joints from the users hands.  It initially allowed developers to use the tool whichever way they deemed necessary, but have now changed that stance.  Due to many apps utilizing only one finger or the whole hand, Leap Motion now wants developers to use the functions of a whole hand.

More from Technology

The goal of Leap Motion is to get all of their developers on the same page and essentially create a virtual hand, create flawless functionality across multiple applications.

Although it is currently only available for developers, the product is in a public beta phase and is progressing towards being available for consumers.  As the technology grows, Leap Motion plans to release the product to the market and allows users to continue to provide feedback for future upgrades.
