NFL Rumors: Andy Reid not worried about Alex Smith contract
By Josh Hill
One of the biggest questions the Kansas City Chiefs and their fans have is just how long Alex Smith will be the franchise’s main quarterback. After trading two second round pick for him last year, the Chiefs are now facing the possibility that Alex Smith could be gone faster than he got there which would seem like a giant waste of everyone’s time and resources.

But while long term contract talks have stalled between the Chiefs and Smith, not everyone have a gloomy outlook on the situation. Head coach Andy Reid is rather chill about the whole deal and isn’t fretting over stalled contract talks at the end of May.
“I said what I said before. Alex said it, Dorsey said it. As long as they’re working at it, then that’s all good,” Reid said, via Chiefs beat writer Terez A. Paylor. “I think that’s enough said on it. I don’t think he’s concerned and we’re not. I’m sure it will get worked out down the road.”
Reid may not be panicking about Smith’s stalled contract now and he really shouldn’t be given how much of the offseason is left to work out a deal.
If these stalled talks continue to go nowhere as we get into July and August, then people might want to start perking up their ears and paying attention, but we’re a few months away from that and contracts can come together in a snap. The two sides still seem to be far apart on Smith’s value, but if Andy Reid isn’t fretting yet than no one else should be either.
