The Browns have started to line up players on the other side of the ball from Johnny Manziel.

More from Cleveland Browns

Michael David Smith at NBC Sports reports that the Browns have come to terms on an agreement with cornerback Aaron Berry. The 25-year old, though, isn’t being signed to be a definitive defensive superstar. Smith writes that the Browns will continue to utilize Joe Haden, considered one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL, and that anything they get from Berry will be a pleasant surprise.

Berry has already worked with head coach Mike Pettine when the two were with the Jets organization in 2012.

His time surrounding that period in his life has been filled with controversy and injury. Arrested on charges of drunk driving and for wielding a firearm in a parking lot, Berry was cut by the Lions and subsequently suspended by the NFL. Following his signing with the Jets, Berry was hampered by hamstring problems and a torn ACL over the next season and a half.

If he has a clean year in Cleveland, things will start to look up for the beleaguered cornerback.

Otherwise, it could just be another bump in the road of an already shaky career.
