With the college football season rapidly approaching, renowned expert Phil Steele is hard at work putting together his thoughts on the upcoming campaign, and with that, he has released his 2014 preseason All-Big Ten team on Thursday.

In something that should come as a shock to no one, Ohio State quarterback Braxton Miller was tabbed on the first team. Heading into his final season in Columbus, Miller is once again a preseason candidate for the Heisman Trophy and will be playing with a chip on his shoulder due to narrowly losing out on a trip to the BCS National Championship Game last season.

Also of note on the offensive side of the ball, Wisconsin running back Melvin Gordon, another preseason Heisman contender, is leading the charge in the backfield. With the departure of James White, the rock will be carried just a little more this season by one of the best rushers in the game as the redshirt junior passed on the opportunity to go to the NFL to come back for one more season in Madison.

On the defensive side of the ball, Nebraska defensive end Randy Gregory is the name that stands out most on the first team. Gregory is coming off a season in which he compiled 65 total tackles and 9.5 sacks; and there have already been some draft experts that have him pegged as a sure-fire first-round pick if he chooses to leave Lincoln after this season.
