Williams is a 6-1, 170-pound cornerback and a two-star recruit who also had offers from Colorado State and Louisville.
The Cardinals were especially enamored with Williams and the talent at South Oak Cliff as they extended offers to 10 players at that the Dallas high school in May.
Louisville extended offers to running back Jordan Stevenson who is committed to Texas, wide receiver JF Thomas who is committed to TCU, safety Prentice McKinney who is committed to Notre Dame, safety Jamile Johnson who is committed to Oklahoma, defensive tackle Jalen Goss, and defensive back X’Zaviae Ausborne also received offers from the 2015 class in addition to Williams.
The Cardinals didn’t stop with the 2015 class as the 2016 class has offers extended to defensive end Marvin Terry, defensive back Juice Parker and defensive end/linebacker hybrid Hal Vinson.
Williams is the first cornerback to add his name to Gary Anderson’s class that is headlined by offensive tackle Jon Dietzen who is the top prospect in the state of Wisconsin and a four-star recruit.
Receiving a commitment from a two-star recruit may not send fans into a frenzy as opposed to a five-star recruit, but a player like Williams is the type of player you need to add depth to your roster and he has great size and length to play the position and could be a player who blossoms his senior year and potential redshirt freshman season before starring on the defense and/or special teams.
With the commitment of Williams, the Badgers move up to the No. 37 ranked class class according to the 247Sports team rankings and the No. 6 class in the Big Ten.
