Tennessee received the commitment of three-star athlete Jocquez Bruce (Knoxville, Tenn. South Doyle) on Tuesday afternoon after he announced his decision to commit to the Vols on his twitter account and become the 13th commitment for the 2015 class.

The 5-10, 165-pound athlete is the nation’s No. 834 player overall regardless of position, the No. 74 athlete and the No. 28 player in the state of Tennessee, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Bruce received his scholarship offer from the Volunteers while he camped at Tennessee last weekend on June 14th and hopped on the offer to play for the premier in-state program.

He also had offers from Memphis, Austin Peay, Chattanooga, Charleston Southern and Middle Tennessee State so the decision to play for the SEC program likely didn’t require too many sleepless nights as he weighed his options on where to continue his playing career.

Bruce is the second commitment for Tennessee in eight days after they received the commitment from three-star quarterback Quinten Dormady earlier this month.

A versatile athlete who has experience as a kick and punt returner, running back, receiver and defensive back, Bruce will use his 4.5 speed in the 40-yard dash to fill a hole on special teams, operating out of the slot as a receiver or filling in on defense depending on where the coaches think his skill-set will help the roster the best.

With the commitment of Bruce, Tennessee now owns the nation’s No. 13 class overall and the No. 8 class in the SEC.

Tennessee made waves on the recruiting trail last year and they appear to be on a similar path again for the 2015 class.
