While Kent Bazemore didn’t get much run with the Golden State Warriors, the same can’t be said for his short stint with the Los Angeles Lakers. Dealing with a rash of injuries, Bazemore was thrust into the Lakers lineup and produced solid numbers while playing in Hollywood last season.

The Lakers are said to be interested in bringing Bazemore back, but the team recently announced that they would not extend a qualifying offer to the young veteran, simply because they’re looking to clear as much cap room as possible.

That has left the door open for opposing teams to show interest in the swingman, like the Phoenix Suns who are said to be interested in Kent Bazemore.

Interest from the Suns comes at a relatively odd time considering they’re rumored to be interested in both LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony and adding Bazemore, even on a small salary, could throw a wrench into such a plan. Of course, the likelihood that either James or Anthony would sign in the Valley of the Sun (let alone both) is minimal at best and the team needs a secondary plan, though I’m not sure fans would be jumping for joy over a Kent Bazemore signing.

That said, he’s still a very solid player and given he’s not likely to command much of a contract, he’s a very solid investment and could prove to be one of the better under-the-radar signings of the NBA’s offseason.

For what it’s worth, the Golden State Warriors have not expressed interest in bringing back their former player.
