Although the Los Angeles Lakers, Portland Trail Blazers, Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors have all shown interest in Channing Frye, the Phoenix Suns are doing what they can to re-sign their free agent big man. That’s the word from Yahoo Sports who says the Suns are ‘pushing’ to keep Frye who opted out of his contract last month.

Frye is your typical under-the-radar, veteran signing who will likely end up making a bigger impact for his team than most will give credit for, so it’s understandable why so many teams are lusting after the power forward who brings a unique perimeter game with him.

When Channing Frye opted out of his deal with the Phoenix Suns, it wasn’t because he no longer wanted to play in the Valley of the Sun but he was rather looking to secure what may be his final large money deal as his career begins to enter the twilight.

He also likely figured there would be a handful of teams willing to compete for his services, thus, the reason behind the decision.

As for Channing Frye, it doesn’t appear as if he has any favorite at this point (at least not publicly) though the Golden State Warriors may have a little assistance considering Andre Iguodala, a college teammate of Frye at Arizona, is said to be recruiting him to the Bay Area.

The Phoenix Suns however own Frye’s Bird Rights meaning they can pay him more money and for a longer duration than any other team in the market. Whether or not they actually want to, however, is a different story.
