Less than two weeks after receiving his offer from Oregon, four-star quarterback recruit, Travis Waller (Anaheim, Calif. Servite) committed to the Ducks on Tuesday morning.

More from College Football

Waller is the nation’s No. 79 overall recruit regardless of position, the No. 4 dual-threat quarterback and the No. 11 recruit in the state of California, according to the 247Sports Rankings. He picked the Ducks over Notre Dame and Northwestern and had offers from Alabama, Ohio State, Tennessee and Tennessee, among others.

“I took an unofficial visit to Oregon in January and loved the campus, coaches and players,” Waller tells 247Sports. “The players are family and they don’t treat anyone different. They play in the PAC-12 North and its an hour flight from home so my mom can come to my games.”

The 6-3, 185-pound dual-threat passed for 1,669 yards and 12 touchdowns on 127-235 passing with seven interceptions. He also added 1,293 yards on the ground and 13 touchdowns on 171 rushing attempts.

Oregon was late to offer Waller, but in the end they got a player that should fit in nicely in the system they run as he can use his feet and his arm to make plays as so many quarterbacks have done in recent years with the Ducks, such as Dennis Dixon, Darron Thomas and of course current starter Marcus Mariotta.

With the commitment of Waller, Oregon now boasts the nation’s No. 19 recruiting class and the No. 1 class in the Pac-12, according to the 247Sports team rankings.
