The Elite 11 quarterback and The Opening are two of the biggest events that run concurrently at the Nike Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon and the first day of the Elite 11 began on Sunday morning and there was no shortage of impressive throws, especially from Alabama commit, Blake Barnett.

The 6-4.5, 200-pound quarterback from Santiago high school in Corona, California has been impressive early in the workouts as he has shown off the footwork and arm that made him the No. 3 dual-threat quarterback in the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Barnett originally committed to the Notre Dame Fighting Irish before decommitting on June 4 and later taking an unofficial visit to Tuscaloosa to visit with the Crimson Tide coaches on June 11 which prompted his commitment one week later on June 18.

Here you can see Barnett showing off his smooth feet and clean dropbacks as he is out to prove that he is the best high school quarterback in the nation.

Barnett takes an efficient three-step drop in the video above, steps up and delivers a strike to his receiver that’s waiting for him as soon as he comes out of his break.

Very impressive early on in the competition and the coaching he’ll receive from Trent Dilfer and current college quarterbacks in attendance acting as coaches/counselors like Bryce Petty and Everett Golson, among others, will aid Barnett in his development as he takes this instruction back home to California and into his senior season.

Barnett passed for 2,322 yards and 22 touchdowns and added 695 rushing yards and 13 touchdowns as a junior.
