With LeBron James’ announcement he was returning to Cleveland, it began the domino effect in the NBA free agency period in regards to what players would sign where.

More from LeBron James

With Carmelo Anthony officially returning to the Knicks, and Chris Bosh returning to Miami, the second tier free agents are now getting their chance to mull over offers from multiple teams interested in their services for the upcoming season.

One such free agent is forward Luol Deng. After a trade that sent him from the Bulls to the Cavaliers last year, Deng’s numbers dropped off significantly. With the right fit, however, Deng has all of the ability to return to his All-Star form, and many teams hope to sign him.

At this point, Deng is still deciding whether to sign with the Miami Heat, Dallas Mavericks, or even the Atlanta Hawks and Phoenix Suns.

The Miami Heat are apparently still the frontrunner to sign Deng to fill the void left by LeBron James in the frontcourt.

According to reports, however, the Heat and Deng are still far apart when it comes to the money being offered on the contract. The Heat are looking at signing Deng for something in the $10 million per year ballpark, but that is seemingly not flying with Deng at this point.

If the Heat hope to sign Deng before other suitors pay him more, they better quickly evaluate how much they are willing to open their wallets for the former All Star.
