According to his agent Drew Rosenhaus, Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon will be attending the appeal hearing on his year-long suspension “soon,” reports Mary Kay Cabot of the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

Back in May it was revealed that Gordon had failed a second marijuana test and would subsequently face being suspended for the entire 2014 season. As expected, he did appeal the ruling and we have heard for quite some time that the hearing was scheduled for this month, although an exact date was never specified. And given this latest report, there appears to still be no set date.

More from Cleveland Browns

While there may have been a small chance that he could have won the appeal, that may have been thrown out the window over the Fourth of July weekend when Gordon was pulled over and charged with DWI. To even have hope of not being suspended for the entire season, he needed to keep his nose clean at least, and he failed at that.

Gordon is coming off a 2013 season in which he was the most prolific wide receiver in the league, despite the shaky quarterback play the Browns were stuck with last season. Coming into this year, he was going to be looked upon to lead the charge for the team on their way back to the top, but now there’s not even a guarantee he will be with the team come September.

Some have suggested that the Browns may just cut him altogether before training camp begins.
