The Phoenix Suns and guard Eric Bledsoe are said to be ‘far apart‘ regarding money in a prospective contract extension and given that there have been suggestions that the Suns may be willing to to part with the young guard, especially after signing Isaiah Thomas in free agency.

More from Los Angeles Lakers

Such a sentiment seems a little odd considering the Suns have been so adamant about retaining Eric Bledsoe for the past few months, but if they feel he’s too costly it’s understandable as to why they may test the market. The Houston Rockets, Sacramento Kings and Milwaukee Bucks have all been mentioned as interested suitors but it’s the Los Angeles Lakers who have most recently surfaced as another team allegedly interested in the combo guard.

That’s the word from Suns postgame radio host Jon Bloom who hints the Lakers could be shopping a handful of assets including Julius Randle in a trade for Eric Bledsoe.

Of course, there are a few problems with such a trade as Jordan Hill recently re-signed with the Lakers. That means he can’t be traded until December 15th and given the nature of his contract, it contains a full no-trade clause. Bloom however says that Hill has allegedly yet to sign on the dotted line, which would alleviate such an issue. In addition, the Lakers can’t trade Julius Randle until thirty days have passed from his contract signing. Given both facts, it seems questionable if such a deal could ever manifest but Bloom seems adamant in his source despite some CBA issues that could potentially snag the scenario.
