When LeBron James decided to leave the Cleveland Cavaliers for the Miami Heat in 2010, it was a move that shocked many. Though if you had to pick a new home there are few places more beautiful than South Beach, so the relocation (while shocking) was understandable.

However, leaving Miami to return to Ohio? No matter how you slice it, it’s a step down in terms of a geographical location and it’s not something James’ former Miami Heat teammate Mario Chalmers is understanding of.

Chalmers, who was hoping that King James would return to the Heat recently expressed disbelief that the multiple time MVP left the bright lights of South Beach for the blistery conditions of Cleveland.

While Mario Chalmers does have a point in suggesting that most high profile free agents would likely prefer Florida to Ohio, it was simply a matter of returning home for LeBron James so his situation is a little different. Honestly, it sounds like a bit of sour grapes on the part of Chalmers, though, frankly it’s understandable as he knows his opportunity to win yet another NBA championship just took a major nose dive.

That said, it doesn’t make the backhanded slight any less amusing. This of course comes on the heels of Chris Bosh suggesting that the Miami Heat don’t need LeBron James to win, so it’s clear there is some salt and shade being thrown from some former LBJ teammates who are none too pleased with his free agent decision.

Poor LeBron. He can’t win for losing.
