Earlier this year, a 101-year-old woman threw out the first pitch for the Blue Jays. The Padres saw this and thought, “Screw that. We can top that. Get me a 105-year-old woman!”

More from MLB

It couldn’t have been that easy to find a 105-year-old Padres fan, but the Padres managed to do it. Her name is Agnes McKee. And Sunday, she threw out the ceremonial first pitch before the Padres’ game. Using a motion she may have learned from Old Hoss Radbourne himself.

Do I even need to bother with the 50 Cent joke?

It’s cute and all, but now I’m starting to worry that we could see an old lady first pitch arms race. The Padres have now done 105. So what’s next? Some team tries for 106? 107?

Where does it end? Does some team cart out a 110-year-old woman to throw out the first pitch? What happens when one of these supercentanarian pitching stars keels over on the mound in front of thousands of people?

OH MY GOD YOU KILLED THE OLD LADY!

Not a good scene. Great job by Agnes McKee, touching moment and all that, but it’s got to stop here.
